Upcoming meetings for investment companies on theaic.co.uk
AGMs have changed quite a bit since Covid. In the early days of the pandemic, directors met furtively in the car parks of motorway service stations, winding down their windows to avoid breaking lockdown rules.
These days, hybrid AGMs are becoming increasingly commonplace, along with virtual shareholder presentations and webinars. To help shareholders keep track, we’ve recently expanded our AGM calendar on theaic.co.uk.
Now called ‘Upcoming meetings’, the calendar allows you to filter meetings by location (London, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc.) or meeting type (AGM, shareholder presentation or webinar).
Importantly, you can also see which meetings have an online option available, or select the option called ‘Show online availability’ to display only those meetings you can attend virtually. Currently, just under a third of all meetings can be joined online.
Of course, attending AGMs in person gives you a chance to share a cup of coffee or sandwich with fellow shareholders and board directors – and perhaps question them or the manager in a less formal setting. If you click on the ‘Attendance details’ icon, you’ll see all the important details of the meeting, including date, time and venue (example here), so if you do want to show up in person you know where you’re heading.
Don’t forget, you can also find on our website information on how to vote your shares or attend an AGM if you hold your shares on platforms.
Being a shareholder in an investment company gives you rights that you don’t have as an investor in open-ended funds – and attending AGMs is not the least of these. We hope our Upcoming meetings page makes it easier for you to keep track of key dates and exercise those important rights.
