'My alerts' on www.theaic.co.uk
Fancy getting another email? Of course you don’t. But what if that email contained information you had actually asked for, on the investment companies you were interested in?
This is what the alerts function on the AIC website is for. You decide which companies you are interested in, and which data points you want to monitor: it might be share price, discount, yield or stock exchange announcements.
To avoid cluttering inboxes, if there are multiple alerts triggered on any given day, they will all be visible within one email, with each alert clearly labelled so you can see more detail.
If no alerts are triggered on any given day, no email will be sent.
The alert is quick and easy to set up.
Let’s say you wanted to know if an investment company’s share price hits a certain level. In the example here, you can see that an alert will be triggered if the market price of Fidelity Asian Values goes below 400p or above 600p.
In this example, alerts have also been set up to tell you about changes to discount and yield, or if a new dividend has been released.
You can also use alerts to receive links to stock exchange announcements, such as results or notices of meetings.
You can choose to be notified if a company has released new literature such as a factsheet.
Once an alert with a set threshold has been triggered it becomes ‘inactive’. You can then easily restart or reset the parameters. However, alerts that you are likely to want to receive continuously, such as a new dividend or a new annual report, will always remain active until you delete them.
We hope that this is one email you will actually want to receive.
