Researching investment companies on theaic.co.uk
Doing your research on potential investments can be time-consuming, involving repeated Google searches and trawling through multiple websites. When it comes to investment companies, we’re trying to make the task a little easier.
Every investment company has its own profile page on theaic.co.uk. You can access this by simply looking the company up using the search box on the homepage or the ‘compare investment companies’ page.
There are 12 tabs on the company profile page, including overview, performance, portfolio, ESG, dividends, charges, and so on. All of these could be useful for your research. However, it’s the eighth tab, called ‘Research’, that we want to focus on now.
This brings together news, views, commentary and third-party research on each investment company. As with all content on theaic.co.uk it is free to view.
You’ll see up to four sections, depending on the company.
The first is called ‘Research’ and is made up of analysis from research houses such as Kepler, Edison, Hardman & Co and Quoted Data. You should be aware that this research is generally paid for by the investment company, but it can still be a useful source of information, highlighting key factors affecting the company’s performance. (It’s worth noting that you can also browse research of this nature across the whole investment universe here).
The next section, ‘Related articles’, includes content from respected journalists such as Ian Cowie, Faith Glasgow and David Prosser as well as press releases from the AIC.
‘Related videos’ is home to videos produced or commissioned by the asset manager of the investment company. These range from simple market updates to more detailed explorations of strategy or process, or case studies of portfolio companies. We have also partnered with video producers Doceo and Asset TV to host their videos on our website.
Finally, you’ll see ‘Related Citywire news’. This pulls in content from Citywire related to the investment company in question.
By bringing all this information from disparate sources together in one place, we hope to make your task in researching investment companies easier. As ever, if you have any feedback or if you have any questions about how to use or find information on our website, please contact our dedicated website team by email: website@theaic.co.uk.
